Vigils

Work description and art-historical context

Vigils dwell in a state of wakefulness. Reflections, puddles, and remnants of light loosen stable bonds to space, direction, and time. The visible becomes a transparent surface upon which perception encounters itself. The images move within an in-between zone of appearance and dissolution, of closeness and distance. They do not fix a place, but a condition of temporal openness in which presence becomes perceptible without certainty.
